FAQs

eBay WMS integration allows your eBay store and your WMS to communicate and share data with each other. It achieves this through the use of APIs – application programming interfaces.

The major advantage of eBay WMS integration is that inventory information is automatically updated each time you buy or sell stock. Likewise, order information is updated in real-time as your workers scan inventory items with RFID/barcode scanners. Hence, worker productivity rises, and errors and delays are minimized due to automation. WareGo provides these benefits and many others besides.

EBay WMS integration works by allowing eBay and your WMS to exchange data via APIs. Here are the steps involved:

Step 1: Order Placement

When a customer places an order on your eBay store, all order details are immediately sent to your WMS via the eBay WMS integration.

Step 2: Fulfillment

The WMS immediately updates inventory data to reflect this customer order. It sends this updated information to eBay to indicate stock availability.

Based on custom rules (like wave/batch scheduling, order prioritization by SKU, region, etc), a warehouse work order is created for workers to execute. The work order guides workers to pick, pack, and dispatch the required SKUs.

Step 3: Confirmation

The WMS generates the label for the item package by extracting the item’s tracking number from the shipping carrier via its API. The WMS sends these details to eBay, where the customer sees a notification for the item shipment.

The WMS provides transaction information to your ERP, CRM, accounts, and any other integrated business system.

Integrating eBay with a capable WMS brings several key benefits for your eBay business:

  • No overselling: You avoid losing customers to stockouts, lost sales, and cancelled orders because the WMS automatically updates your eBay inventory data.
  • Easy Tracking: You track your inventory in real-time and thus stay informed. Customers can also check their order shipping status.
  • Less Effort: since data is uploaded automatically to eBay, no human intervention is required.
  • Speed and Precision: Since no manual effort is required to upload data, there are no human errors or delays. Fulfillment is fast and precise.
  • Faster Picking: WMS makes use of ABC classification, serialization, slotting, and other inventory management methods to reduce worker travel time and thus speed up item picking. Warehouse processes become faster.
  • Omnichannel Support: managing inventory manually across multiple online platforms is complex and error-prone. Integration solves this problem, making omnichannel selling feasible

Before settling for a WMS, you must ensure that it supports bidirectional data flow between eBay and the WMS itself, since each WMS has its own capabilities and limitations.

WareGo can integrate out of the box with eBay and several other business systems. This, combined with WareGo’s comprehensive enterprise inventory management features, makes it the ideal choice for eBay businesses of all scales.

There are three main price models for eBay WMS integration:

Middleware: When you subscribe to middleware for eBay WMS integration, you pay an amount that depends on order volume. The more items you sell, the more you pay.

Custom Integration: As the name implies, you can develop custom code for which you will have to make a single payment to gain ownership over this custom code. That said, you will have to pay for maintenance; hence, it is not really a one-time payment.

WMS Subscription: When you subscribe to a cloud-based WMS, expect to pay anywhere from a few hundred dollars a month to several thousand for enterprise features and scale. You don’t pay anything extra by way of integration.

WareGo represents the best deal by far, with 200+ integrations. We cover not just eBay, but several other business systems you need, like ERPs, CRMs, accounts, ecommerce platforms, shipping carriers, etc. Hence, you can save a lot of money with WareGo’s 200+ integrations.
